Things are really moving forward quickly with the project. I'm excited & nervous. I still have LOADS of things to do in preparation. Admin, printing, emailing, calling, meetings, etc. However I somehow manage to get a cheeky little staycation over Christmas. Yes!
I want as many people as possible to know about The VIP Project. Anything you can do to help, whether it's like, share, follow, tell people on the street etc. I really appreciate it. In order for this project to be a success we need your help. Thank you to those of you that are helping out with spreading the word, I really really appreciate it. We have had a lot of enquiries and interest so far and want to keep building on it. Thank you so much.
In an attempt to get the word out i'm doing some radio interviews.
I was asked a while back if I would like to do an interview on RNIB Connect Radio, and they said they will also play one of our artists' songs on air. I got excited, but the maths didn't quite add up. We have 3 (4 including me) artists and we only have enough time to play one. In my head I was trying to figure out if I could do some sort of Dan Whitehouse, Michael Clarke, Fiona Bevan hybrid mash-up. It sounded ridiculous in my head, so I thought there's no chance I'll be able to put together something convincing. I went back and asked if they could play a song for all 3, then I remembered it's an interview not a documentary. We settled with one song on air and links on RNIB's Connect Radio website. Win.
RNIB Connect Radio reminded me that I had to choose the song. I didn't want that pressure so I got my friends in RNIB's Marketing Team to listen to a song from each of our artists and they had a poll. It was as tense as The U. S. Presidential Election. The song is played at the end of the interview and I had the pleasure of introducing it.
You can hear the interview and song here:
I've got another radio interview lined up. This one is an hour long show on Inside Tracks on WCR (Wolverhampton Community Radio). The show is presented by Pete Whitehouse. I have to choose a selection of 10 tracks and talk about my life and The VIP Project. I've tried to choose tracks that signpost key points in my life and in the project. It's going to be great fun, but it's been really difficult narrowing down my life to 10 tracks. I'll let you know when we're on air.
In other news on Friday the application process opens. It's a really simple application process. All you have to do, if you meet the criteria is tell us why you want to be a part of the project and if you have ANY experience of writing or performing, send us ONE link. The application form will appear on our website on Friday. If you are unable to fill in the form, there will be a number you can call to leave your details and we'll call you back to go through the application. We're expecting a lot of applications so be as creative as possible.
Thanks for reading and listening.
